All About the Certified Nursing Assistant Exam

A Certified Nursing Assistant Exam is the final test which needs to be passed by trainees in order for them to earn a certification for their profession. The NNAAP or the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) is given to CNAs to test their competency in terms of knowledge, skills and abilities.
In order to be a CNA, you should acquire basic training in a vocational school, community college or in a medical institution which offers the program. During the entire training program, different concepts and skills are taught by instructors, each designed to help CNAs in performing the different tasks asked from them. The second part on the other hand is about skill performance. Here, trainees are tested with regards to their performance in bedside nursing. They are entailed to perform 5 basic nursing procedures in front of an assessor who rates the performance if they are done correctly. These 5 methods are taken from a list of 25 which are commonly performed by nursing assistants in the clinical setting.
